Cropredy Church of England Primary School welcomes everyone from the surrounding communities which we serve.

We are very proud of our strong Christian ethos, that underpins all that we do at Cropredy Church of England Primary School and our vision is driven by the words of our chosen Bible text – The Good Samaritan, Luke 10:25-37.

‘Building Bridges to a Brighter Future’

Cropredy Church of England Primary School welcomes everyone from the surrounding communities which we serve.

At Cropredy Church of England primary school, we believe that values serve as bridges—connecting us to one another, to learning, and to the wider world. These bridges provide strength, guidance, and support as we journey through education and life. Over the course of the academic year, we explore one value each half term.

Our school vision, “Building Bridges to a Brighter Future,” reflects both the Christian foundation of our school and the character of our village. Inspired by the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25–37), we are reminded that true community is built when we show kindness, forgiveness, and respect to others. Just as the Samaritan reached out with compassion, we encourage our pupils to build bridges of friendship and understanding, developing self-belief and resilience as they grow. It also draws on the geography of our village, where bridges connect paths and people, symbolising the importance of linking school, church, and community together. In this way, our vision is rooted in both scripture and place: nurturing children who are ready to cross into a brighter future, supported by strong values and a caring community.

Respect

The Bridge of Connection: valuing one another and treating everyone with dignity.

Respect connects people across differences. By listening and learning from one another, we construct bridges of appreciation and harmony, ensuring every voice is heard and every person is treated with dignity. I can show respect by listening carefully and appreciating others’ ideas.

Community

The Bridge of Belonging: working together and recognising every child’s place in our school family.

Our school is a strong and united structure, where each child is a vital part of the whole. We reinforce the importance of working together, creating bridges between individuals, families, and the wider community to make a lasting impact. I can build a strong community by including others and working as a team.

Kindness

The Bridge of Compassion: using thoughtful words and actions to ensure everyone feels valued.

Acts of kindness are the beams that strengthen our bridges. Through thoughtful words and actions, pupils learn to create safe and welcoming paths where everyone feels valued and supported. I can be kind by using thoughtful words and helping others feel happy.

Forgiveness

The Bridge of Understanding: learning from mistakes and restoring relationships with empathy.

Forgiveness allows us to move forward with grace, turning misunderstandings into opportunities for growth. It builds bridges of reconciliation, helping us listen, learn, and restore relationships with empathy and care. I can practice forgiveness by letting go of grudges, seeking understanding, and showing kindness even in difficult moments.

Self-belief

The Bridge of Growth: building confidence to embrace challenges and celebrate progress.

Confidence is the bridge that carries us toward our dreams. We nurture a mindset that empowers pupils to cross the waters of doubt, reach new goals, and embrace their unique talents with pride. I can believe in myself by trying new challenges and celebrating my progress.

Resilience

The Bridge of Strength: persevering through difficulties with courage and determination.

Life presents challenges, but bridges are built to withstand storms. We teach children the power of perseverance, helping them rise above obstacles and walk forward with courage and determination. I can be resilient by learning from mistakes and never giving up.

Through faith, friendship, and learning, our school’s bridges lead to a future filled with promise and possibility.
