OUR WEEK OF LEARNING – 24/01/2025
Year 3 have had a fantastic start to the new term and are enjoying the start of our new topic about ‘Rainforests.’ The children have explored the Atlases and found out about lines of longitude and latitude, the Equator and the northern and southern hemispheres. They have then plotted the different tropical rainforests on to a map and labelled this with the different Countries. In Science, we have begun our ‘Animals including Humans,’ topic and the children have looked at the different food groups and created a food pyramid showing these. They then drew an ‘Eatwell’ plate with the quantities of each different food group and portions per day that we need to keep healthy. In Forest School, we have had a lovely time looking for animal homes and exploring the forest (though it has been rather muddy!) In Maths, we are practising our multiplication and division facts of the 3, 4 and 8 times tables.
